The place we wished existed.

We wanted tattoos, but none of the studios we knew made us feel comfortable. Dark places, full of skulls, meant for someone else. And a way of working where the small piece went to the apprentice, and you were always nudged toward something bigger than what you'd come for. In fact, we took too long to take the step: you only dared if someone you trusted took you — the studio itself didn't inspire that confidence.

It began modestly: a front desk, another job paying the bills, and the conviction that a place like this was missing. Before we ever picked up a machine, we did everything else — listening, scheduling, caring for the aftercare. We came from customer service, and the trade was failing at the basics: listening, punctuality, cleanliness, what happens once you've gone home. That's the first thing we fixed.

The real difference wasn't tattooing differently. It was leaving behind lone operators to become a team with a system — one that works just as well for the person tattooing as for the person being tattooed. By making a place where people are truly heard, people who had never dared began to come.

In 2019 we opened a studio devoted entirely to fine line, when there wasn't one — only a few individual artists in studios that did everything. We called it Sinkply — simply ink, and nothing more. Over time we raised the bar and chose a location to match, next to Retiro Park. In 2024 came the expansion: Barcelona and Zürich, with the same values and the same standard.

Much of the team is family — and the family we've chosen along the way: friends who shared the same idea of how a person should be treated. We cover every role ourselves: reception, scheduling, the desk, the room and the tattoo. From start to finish, you're looked after by people who belong to the house.

It's not a sentimental detail: it's what guarantees the system. The standard doesn't depend on who looks after you that day, because the people who uphold it know each other, look out for each other and share what they learn. When someone new joins, we stay close until that standard is theirs.

Every artist has their own style and their own signature — that matters to us. What we share is the way we treat the people who trust us.

We run it ourselves, with no one on the outside deciding for us. That freedom lets us choose: which artists are part of it, which materials we work with, and how much care we put into every step.
